Ice Cubes with Strawberries: Fresh, Fruity, Cool
Imagine opening the freezer and there they are: your homemade ice cubes with little pieces of strawberries inside. They look like tiny treasures in the ice, and when you put them in a glass of water, it starts to sparkle. You take a sip. It tastes a bit like strawberries. And a bit like pride. Because you made it all by yourself. Maybe waiting was the hardest part. That moment when you keep checking if the ice cubes are finally ready. But you held on. And you learned that you can't always see everything right away. Some things take time.
What you'll need
- Fresh strawberries
- Ice cube trays
- Water
- Sparkling water
- Lemon
- Cutting board and knife
- Glass and straw
How it works
-
Take a handful of fresh strawberries. You don't need a huge amount. Just make sure they are clean. So rinse them thoroughly under cold water.
-
Remove the green leaves. Cut the berries into small pieces so they fit into the ice cube tray.
-
Place the strawberry pieces into the compartments of the ice cube tray. Think for yourself: do you want a lot of fruit or just a little?
-
Slowly pour water into the tray. Be very careful so nothing spills over. Now comes the hardest part: be patient. Carefully place your ice cube tray in the freezer. Straight, so nothing spills. Then it's time to wait. You learn that some results take time.
-
When the cubes are hard, carefully remove them from the tray. Plop – into the glass! Fill your glass with water or sparkling water. Maybe add some lemon juice. Now you can taste it. You did it all by yourself. And your drink? Looks great and tastes really refreshing.
