What you'll need

  • Boiled white eggs
  • Liquid food coloring
  • Paper towels
  • Egg carton
  • Vinegar
  • Glass
  • Surface cover

How it works

  1. Lay out everything you need on the table: food coloring, vinegar, egg carton, glass, and of course, the paper towels. You might also want to put something down to keep the table clean.

  2. Take a paper towel and wrap each egg individually. The paper towel should completely cover the egg. Now your eggs are ready for a color bath!

  3. Now comes the fun part! Drizzle the wrapped eggs with different food colors. You can use as many colors as you like. Watch how the colors spread and mix on the paper towel.

  4. After you've drizzled the eggs with color, gently dip each egg into a glass of vinegar. The vinegar helps the colors shine even brighter and stick well to the egg. But don't soak them too long; a quick dip is enough!

  5. Now your artworks just need to dry. Carefully place them in an egg carton and wait until they are completely dry.

  6. Once the eggs are dry, you can gently remove the paper towel. You'll be surprised by the amazing patterns and colors that appear! Have fun experimenting and happy Easter!
