Making Daisies from Paper Bags

Imagine you have seven white paper bags in front of you. Just ordinary bags, like the ones you find in the kitchen. Now comes the creative part: you will turn them into a huge, beautiful flower, a daisy! All you need is scissors, glue, and your hands. While crafting this flower, you'll learn something special: how simple things can become something beautiful. Because creativity doesn't require much. Just you.

What you'll need

7 white paper bags
Glue stick
Liquid craft glue
Scissors
Marker
Yellow or orange construction paper
Hole punch
Green string for hanging

How it works

Place the first bag in front of you with the opening facing up. Then take the glue stick and draw an upside-down 'T' on it. A long line across the bottom and one going up in the middle. This will hold the next bag in place.
Put the second bag on top, press it down well, and make another 'T' with the glue stick. Continue this until all seven bags are stacked and glued together.
Now it's time for the scissors. Hold the entire stack firmly and cut a round shape at the top of the open side, like a petal. Tip: Cut slowly and carefully for a more even flower.
Now apply glue to one of the outer sides. Gently open your bag fan. One bag at a time. Press one side together with the other side. This will hold your flower together and make it round.
Cut out two equally sized circles from the yellow or orange construction paper. Glue one circle to the front center of the flower and the other to the back. Use liquid glue for a better hold.
Now your daisy looks real, just much bigger. Take a hole punch or sharp scissors and make a small hole at the top of one of the petals. Then thread a green string through the hole like a stem. Tie a knot and you're done.
Now you can hang the daisies: on the window, on the wall, on a hook, on the children's room door, or over the dining table. If you make several, it will look like a whole spring garden in the air.
