What you'll need

  • A sheet of A4 paper
  • A pair of scissors
  • Colored pens, glitter stones, or feathers

How it works

  1. Place a sheet of A4 paper in front of you. Take the scissors and carefully cut long strips that are about 2-3 cm wide. Make sure to cut straight lines so your birds look nice later.

  2. Choose one of the paper strips and tie a simple knot in the middle. Pull the knot tight, but be careful not to tear the paper. This knot will be the body of your bird.

  3. Now shape one end of the strip into the head. You can cut the paper to a point so it looks like a little beak.

  4. From the other end of the strip, shape the tail of the bird. Cut a triangle out of the middle to create a fan-shaped tail that gives your bird a livelier appearance.

  5. If you want, you can also glue on some glitter or a few feathers to make your bird even more magical! Finally, attach a string to the bird so you can hang it on a willow branch or somewhere else in your room.

  6. Show your beautiful birds to your family and friends! Maybe you want to make a whole flock of birds to decorate your room? Each bird will be unique, just like in nature. Always stay curious and look forward to the next adventure!
