Watermelon Fries
These look almost like fries from the fryer, but they are juicy, cool, and sweet. You only need a watermelon, a cutting board, and a knife. You can eat them plain or sprinkle with coconut flakes, drizzle with lemon juice, or make a yogurt-honey dip. You can share these fries with your friends or family. And if someone asks where you got the idea, you can say: 'From my Grubenfuchs app!' and maybe they'll discover even more great ideas in it.
What you'll need
- A watermelon
- Cutting board and knife
- Wavy cutter
- Bowl
How it works
-
Place the watermelon on a cutting board. Take a knife or a wavy cutter. If you're unsure, ask an adult for help.
-
Cut about 2–3 cm thick round slices from the melon.
-
Lay the slice flat and cut it into long, even sticks. The wavy cutter will give them a wavy shape.
-
Place the watermelon fries on a plate or in a bowl. You can eat them plain or try different 'fries seasonings'. Coconut flakes, lemon juice, lime juice, or a dip made from yogurt and honey.
