Waffles smell like a celebration. You might know the feeling: when waffles are being baked somewhere, you can smell them from afar. Sweet, warm, and delicious. Today, you'll learn how to easily make waffle batter yourself. The special thing is: you don't need a kitchen scale. Everything works with cups! This way, you can quickly mix the batter together. An adult must be present when baking on the hot waffle iron. This is important to ensure safety. In the end, you'll hold a golden waffle in your hand that you made almost all by yourself. What you'll need

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 5 eggs
  • A large bowl
  • Waffle iron (For adults only)
  • A mixer (For adults only)
  • Ladle
  • Plate
  • Fork
  • Powdered sugar

How it works

  1. Add one cup of soft butter (about 250g), one cup of sugar, and one packet of vanilla sugar to a large bowl.

  2. Now crack the 5 eggs and add them one by one to the bowl.

  3. Add 2.5 cups of flour and one tablespoon of baking powder to the large bowl.

  4. Pour in 1.5 cups of milk. Now you have all the ingredients in the bowl.

  5. Mix all the ingredients into a smooth, lump-free batter.

  6. Bake the waffles with an adult. Tip: Brush the waffle iron with a little oil to prevent sticking. Make sure the iron is hot enough, then fill it with the batter. Bake the waffles until they are golden brown.

  7. Stack your waffles on a plate. Let the waffles cool a bit before trying them. They are warm and super delicious. Waffles taste best when shared with others! Enjoy and have fun baking!
