Quick Cup Crepe Batter Recipe
Do you want to make crepes yourself? These thin, delicious pancakes that you can fold? With chocolate spread, cinnamon and sugar, or applesauce on top? For this recipe, you don't need a scale. A regular cup is enough for measuring. While making crepes, you not only learn how to create something tasty, but you also practice being patient. Sometimes the first crepe won't turn out perfectly, and that's okay. But with each new attempt, it gets better. You can make the batter on your own or ask for help. You might also need assistance from an adult while cooking, as it gets hot. It doesn't matter if you use a pan or a crepe maker; both work. This recipe makes about 6 crepes, so if you want to make more, just double the amount.
What you'll need
- 1 cup flour
- 1.5 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Oil or butter for the pan
- Chocolate spread
- Cinnamon and sugar
- Jam
- Applesauce
- Fruit pieces
- Bowl and whisk
- Pan and spatula
- Ladle
How it works
-
First, choose a regular cup from the cupboard. Use it to measure everything. Pour 1 cup of flour directly into a large bowl.
-
Then crack 2 eggs and add them to the bowl. Next, take 1 tablespoon of sugar and pour it into the bowl as well. Finally, measure out 1.5 cups of milk and add it in. Now you have all the ingredients together.
-
Using a whisk, mix everything well. At first, there might be a few lumps. That's completely normal. Just keep stirring until the batter is nice and smooth.
-
Now it's time to cook. You need either a regular pan or a crepe maker. Ask an adult to help you because it gets hot. Set the pan or crepe maker to medium heat and add a little butter or oil.
-
Take a ladle, scoop some batter, and pour it into the hot pan. Tilt the pan or spread the batter thinly with a crepe spreader. Wait about a minute. Check underneath: Is the bottom golden brown? Then it's time to flip the crepe.
-
Once the crepe is on the second side, add your topping right away. Spread chocolate spread on it or sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over it. Now fold the crepe. You can fold it in half and then again, or however you like it best.
-
The first bite always tastes especially good because you know: you made it all by yourself. Go ahead and make another one! Each crepe will turn out a little better than the last. Have fun trying it out and enjoy your meal!
