Learn a Simple Knot
The simple knot, also known as the pretzel knot, is probably the most well-known and easiest of all knots. It has many uses in everyday life, from tying shoes to securing packages. The knot looks like a little pretzel and is easy to learn, yet safe and effective. Despite its simplicity, it is an important knot that everyone should master. Here’s a simple guide to tying the pretzel knot.
What you'll need
- Rope
How it works
-
Make a loop with your rope. This is our pond. One end of the rope crosses over the other like a cross.
-
The end of the rope, our snake, now slips through the pond and appears on the other side.
-
Now pull on both ends to tighten the knot. And there you have your knot! Well done! With a little practice, it will become very easy. Remember: form the pond, cross the ends, and the snake pops up.
