Koala Muffins. A Pool Party to Snack On.
Today, your muffin becomes a swimming pool! The sun is shining, the water sparkles, and a little koala has just one plan... into the pool! First, you'll transform your muffin with icing into water. What color will your pool be? Light blue, turquoise, or maybe a mix of several shades? Then comes the swim ring. An apple ring lands right in the water. Your koala cookie can sit on it and relax. A little sun umbrella completes the pool party. While decorating, you can experiment, plan, and find your own solutions. How does the koala stay put? Where is the best spot for the umbrella? And how else can you decorate your pool? Maybe your koala will even get a friend. This way, every muffin becomes a little work of art.
What you'll need
- pre-baked muffins
- powdered sugar
- water or lemon juice
- blue and/or turquoise food coloring
- apple rings from Haribo or Trolli
- koala cookies
- small decorative sun umbrellas
- bowl
- spoon and pastry brush
How it works
-
Put powdered sugar in a bowl and gradually stir in a little water or lemon juice. Color the icing blue or turquoise. Experiment with the color: With less color, the water will be lighter, with more color, it will be bolder.
-
Spread the icing on the muffin. You don't have to smooth it out completely. Small waves can stay! Look at your result: Does the surface already remind you of water?
-
Place an apple ring on the still soft icing. Press it down gently. Now your koala cookie can go into the pool. Place it in the apple ring.
-
Carefully insert a small sun umbrella into the muffin. Your koala's favorite spot is ready!
