Icy Blueberry Bites
You're hungry. But not for boring cookies. You want something special. Something fun. Something fruity and icy like snow on your tongue. Then try this trick. Dip blueberries in strawberry quark, sprinkle with toppings, and into the freezer they go! You'll not only learn how to make tasty snacks but also how cold works and how to try something new all by yourself.
What you'll need
- Fresh blueberries (washed!)
- A cup of strawberry quark
- Sprinkles (colorful or chocolate)
- Wooden skewers or a fork for dipping
- Baking paper
- A tray
How it works
-
Find a spot in the kitchen or at the table. Set everything within reach. This way, nothing will spill, and you can focus fully on dipping. Place a baking paper on the tray. This will prevent anything from sticking later.
-
Take the wooden skewer or fork and poke a blueberry. Then gently dip it into the strawberry quark. Twist it a bit so that the quark sticks all around. Be careful not to let it slip off.
-
Have you dipped it nicely? Then carefully take it out. Hold your quark blueberry over a bowl or plate. Use your fingers or a spoon to sprinkle some toppings over it. Or roll the blueberry in the sprinkles. Which method works best?
-
Gently place your finished ball on the baking paper. Don't place them too close together; they need space to cool. Keep going until you have a little masterpiece of quark balls. Then place the tray (maybe with help) in the freezer.
-
Your snack should stay there for at least 2 hours. This will make it nice and firm, like ice! Maybe you can make a sign: "Caution, original creation. Do not steal!" Or you can look at a book, do homework, or think of a cool name for your snack during this time.
-
After waiting, the moment has finally come. You open the freezer. Carefully take out the tray. And there they are. Your icy, crunchy, sweet blueberry quark balls. Take a bite and feel the cold crunch. Sweet. Fresh. Cold. Fruity. Like a little party on your tongue.
-
With just a few ingredients, you've created your own icy snack. Keep it up, try new ideas, and believe in yourself! Because those who try something themselves learn a little more every day.
