What you'll need

  • Closed dandelions
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Bowl

How it works

  1. Go to a meadow and look for closed dandelions. Carefully pick as many as you need. Make sure they don't get crushed.

  2. Cut a long piece of thread, depending on the desired length of your garland. A thicker sewing thread or yarn works well. Take a needle and thread it.

  3. Gently push the needle through the heads of the dandelions. You can string as many as you like.

  4. Find a place to hang the garland. A window or above the table are nice spots where you can see it well.

  5. After a day, the dandelions will start to open. They transform from small buds into fluffy white balls made up of many fine seeds.

  6. Even without water and although they are cut, the closed dandelion heads will open. Even though they are no longer connected to the root, they still have enough energy to open. This shows how fascinating and strong nature is.

  7. The seeds won't fly away but will stay on the heads because they no longer have enough energy to detach. This way, your garland will stay beautiful for a long time. Have fun crafting and marveling!
