Chestnut Massage. Strengthen Your Senses & Body Awareness

Chestnut Massage. Strengthen Your Senses & Body Awareness

🎂 4 + years ⏱️ 20 min 📍 Anywhere ⭐ easy

You can do more with chestnuts than just crafting! In the chestnut massage, you roll them over your hands, arms, or feet and feel how good it is. The smooth balls awaken your senses, bring calm to your mind, and make your body feel alive. It's even better if mom, dad, or a friend joins in. Then you can take turns, massage each other, and share what feels good. This way, you learn to pay attention to each other and relax together. You only need a few chestnuts and a little time. A small break for your body and mind begins.

What you'll need

  • Collected chestnuts
  • Blankets and pillows

How it works

  1. Go outside and look for chestnuts that are round, firm, and smooth. Make sure they have no cracks. If they are wet, place them on a cloth and let them dry. You need at least two chestnuts, but more is even better.

  2. Find a spot where you feel comfortable. On the sofa or on a blanket. If you like, take off your socks so you can feel the chestnuts better. But you can also keep your socks on. The main thing is that it feels good. If you want, you can play some calm music.

  3. Take one chestnut in both hands. Roll it back and forth between your palms. Try to change the pressure, sometimes lightly, sometimes stronger. Then let it roll over your fingers, wrists, and arms. Pay close attention to how it feels.

  4. Sit down and place your foot on a chestnut. Roll it slowly back and forth under your foot. If you like, try it while standing; that's a bit harder. You can also use two chestnuts at the same time or try balancing on one foot.

  5. If someone joins in, you can massage each other with chestnuts. Roll them over shoulders, arms, or backs. Say whether it feels nice or too hard. This way, you learn to pay attention to each other and be considerate.

  6. Lean back, close your eyes, and feel within yourself. How do your hands and feet feel now? Maybe warm, light, or calm. Your body has relaxed, and you have done something good for it.
