Bubble Cereal. A Different Breakfast

Bubble Cereal. A Different Breakfast

🎂 4 + years ⏱️ 20 min 📍 Home ⭐ easy

Bubble cereal is more than just a fun breakfast trick; it's a workout for your mouth. In the center of your cereal bowl, place a small glass of milk. Use a straw to blow into it until lots of bubbles form and little drops of milk splash into the cereal. While bubbling, you engage the muscles you need for speaking, singing, chewing, and swallowing. You strengthen your lips, cheeks, and tongue. At the same time, you learn how to control the air coming from your mouth precisely. Sometimes short and strong, sometimes long and soft. This exercise can help you speak more clearly, hold longer notes, and better control your breathing. So, breakfast turns into a little motor skills training, and by the end, your cereal is almost ready on its own.

What you'll need

  • Cereal
  • Milk
  • Large and small bowl
  • Straw
  • Spoon

How it works

  1. Choose your favorite bowl and fill it with cereal. Place a small glass or a smaller bowl of milk right in the center. This way, it stays stable, and the milk can bubble quietly.

  2. Insert the straw deep into the milk. The deeper it goes, the better you can blow bubbles. Seal the straw tightly with your lips and blow steadily. You'll see small and large bubbles forming. You might even hear a funny gurgling sound.

  3. Try quick, short puffs or long, gentle bubbles. Watch how the milk moves and how different the sounds are. Little drops of milk will naturally splash into the cereal.

  4. When enough milk has bubbled into the cereal, you can simply pour the rest from the glass into the bowl. Stir everything well and enjoy your bubble cereal – after a round of mouth exercise for your lips, cheeks, and tongue.
