How it works

Print out the patient cases so you can get started right away. In the cases, you'll find ideas about what happened to your stuffed animals.
Set up a waiting room where all the stuffed animals can wait for their examination. Pack a doctor's bag: things like a thermometer, band-aids, cotton, fabric scraps for bandages, and a notebook for medical records.
Look at the printed patient cases or come up with your own cases and note down the important information. Call the first patient into the treatment room! What happened? How does your patient feel?
Examine it with your 'instruments' like a stethoscope or thermometer. Check where it hurts and gently feel the area. Note what you find out so you can plan the right treatment.
Now it's time to take care of the stuffed animal. Apply a bandage, give 'medicine', or keep it warm with a cozy blanket. Reassure your patient by saying, 'Everything will be fine!' Come up with creative solutions that fit your case. Document everything in your medical record.
After the treatment, your stuffed animal needs time to recover. Think about whether it needs to rest or drink a lot. Plan when you'll check back next. Write the follow-up in your medical book and encourage your patient: 'You're on the right track to getting better!'
