Imagine giving someone a heart. The recipient opens it, and suddenly a four-leaf clover unfolds with a message, a picture, or a hand-drawn surprise. Sounds magical? It is! You can make it yourself, using paper, your hands, your ideas, and a little trick. Whether you want to surprise Mom or Dad for Mother's Day or Father's Day, or maybe Grandma for her birthday. This clover heart shows: I thought of you. I put in effort. You are important to me. Think about who you want to say something to. You draw, cut, think, and decide how your gift should look. Now let's get started. Step by step.

What you'll need

Clover template
white or colored paper
scissors
colored pencils
tape and glue stick
wooden skewer

How it works

Download the clover heart template and print it out. Cut out the shape along the outer line. You will see: Four hearts connected in the middle.
Now comes the trick, and you need to concentrate. Fold the entire sheet in half horizontally. Unfold it. Then fold it in half vertically. Unfold it again. This creates two fold lines that cross in the middle.
Now fold one half of the heart inwards on both the left and right sides. Then fold everything upwards. And suddenly, you hold a HEART in your hand!
Now your creativity is needed. Color each heart section however you like. You can stick on a photo, write something, or just draw.
Stick the wooden skewer to the back with tape. This way, you can place it in a flower pot, a vase, or simply hand it over directly.
Present your folded heart. Say nothing. Wait. When the other person opens it, the whole clover unfolds with your message. It's a moment of wonder. And you created it.
