What you'll need

  • Heart template (printed)
  • Scissors
  • Colored pencils, felt-tip pens, or gel pens
  • Glue
  • Colored paper
  • Stickers or glitter
  • Ruler

How it works

  1. Download the heart template and print it on white or colored paper. Or use the template as a stencil. It's best to use slightly thicker paper to make the card sturdy. Tip: If you don't have a printer, you can also draw the heart shape on paper.

  2. Cut out the heart along the indicated lines. Fold both sides of the heart towards the center. Tip: Make sure the fold lines are straight so that the envelope looks nice later.

  3. Place the heart with the tip facing up. Take the bottom side and fold it about a third of the way up to the tip, creating a triangle at the top.

  4. Take the tip of the heart and fold it down. Now you have the typical envelope shape.

  5. Open the envelope again and write your message inside. For example: 'Thank you for always being there for me!' or 'You are a heart person.' Decorate the envelope as you like: draw patterns on it, stick on small stickers or glitter stones.

  6. You can secure the tip with a small glitter stone or glue if you want the envelope to stay closed. Have fun crafting and spreading joy!
