Sew a Pumpkin Cloak
Do you want to wear a special costume for Halloween? How about making your own pumpkin cloak? Here’s how to do it.
What you'll need
- Orange fabric, at least 1x1m
- Felt fabric, brown or black
- Scissors
- Sewing kit
- or sewing machine
- Straps for fastening
- Optional: Glue
How it works
-
Lay your square of fabric flat and fold it once, then fold it again. Now you have a smaller, folded square shape.
-
Cut a large arc from the open sides. This will be the bottom part of your cloak. In the corner where all sides meet, cut a smaller, curved corner. This will be the cutout for your neck.
-
While still folded, cut a funnel shape into the fabric from the neck cutout, making it wider at the bottom.
-
With the help of an adult, sew the straps onto the top corners of the cloak so you can tie it later.
-
Cut out eyes, a nose, and a mouth from the felt. This will be your pumpkin's face. Sew or glue these pieces onto the back of your cloak. Now you're done! Put on your pumpkin cloak and see how great it looks!
