Make a Cloud Lantern

Imagine climbing up to the sky and playing with the clouds. With this craft idea, you can bring a piece of the sky into your room. A cool cloud lantern made from a PET bottle, complete with colorful rain!

What you'll need

Empty PET bottle
Cotton
String
Pipe cleaners
Pompoms
Glue or hot glue
Scissors
Knife (for adults only)

How it works

Find an empty PET bottle. This will be your canvas for the cloud artwork! Carefully cut a hole in the middle of the bottle for the light. Next to it, make two small holes for the handle.
Twist one or more pipe cleaners into a U shape. Attach the handle to the top of the bottle. This way, you can easily carry your lantern!
Cut three pieces of string and attach colorful pompoms to them. These fluffy balls will be your raindrops - and because they are so colorful, they look like a real rainbow! Tie the strings with the pompoms to the bottle so they hang down like raindrops.
Tear apart the cotton and glue it all around the bottle. It feels fluffy, right? Almost like a real cloud!
Place the light stick inside the bottle to make your cloud glow from within.
Now you can proudly show off your cloud lantern and maybe share what it would be like to fly among real clouds. Have fun crafting and dreaming!
