Put on a Puppet Show

🎂 4 + years ⏱️ 20 min 📍 Anywhere ⭐ medium

A puppet show is more than just puppets and a stage. When you perform a puppet show, you step into different roles, bring characters to life, and share exciting stories with your audience. It's not just a wonderful way to be creative, but also to laugh, learn, and create shared memories with friends and family. And the best part? You are the director, the actor, and the storyteller all in one!

What you'll need

  • Puppet theater
  • or a cloth between 2 chairs
  • Hand puppets like Kasperle
  • Optional props
  • Audience

How it works

  1. Think of an exciting story. Tip: You can also play a detective story in the puppet theater! Maybe someone has stolen Grandma's cake and Kasperle has to find out who the thief was. Your creativity knows no bounds!

  2. If you're playing alone, think about which puppets will be in your story. If you're playing with friends, assign the roles among yourselves.

  3. Stretch the cloth between two chairs or set up the puppet theater. Have all the puppets and props ready so you can grab them quickly.

  4. Practice the story a few times. This way, you can remember the scenes better and figure out where props are needed.

  5. Invite your audience and start the performance. Remember to speak loudly and clearly so everyone can understand the story. Have fun performing your puppet show stories!
