Oil and Water Experiment

What you'll need
- Oil
- Liquid food coloring
- Glasses
- Water
- Baking dish
- Pipettes
How it works

Get a baking dish and pour some oil into it. Make sure the bottom of the dish is evenly covered with oil.

First, mix water with your favorite colors of food coloring in separate containers.

Then take a pipette and suck up some of one color. Gently drop the color onto the oil in the baking dish. What happens?

How do the colors behave in the water? They won't mix with the oil but will instead form beautiful patterns. Doesn't that look really cool?
