Multiplication Hop Game
Learn multiplication not just in your head, but with your whole body! Grab some friends or family, form a circle, and get ready for an exciting game.
How it works
-
Find a place where you have enough room to move. Stand in a circle so everyone can see each other.
-
Decide together which multiplication table you want to start with. You can begin with an easy one like the 2s or jump straight into something harder like the 7s.
-
Start at 1 and count up. The player whose turn it is loudly says the next number. If that number is a multiple of the active multiplication table, the player makes a clear hop. Example: For the 3s, you hop at 3, 6, 9, 12, etc.
-
Does someone make a mistake or feel unsure? No problem! Pause briefly, repeat the correct number together, and then continue. This helps everyone improve.
-
Play as many rounds as you want. Try to increase the speed as you become more confident. It's not only fun but also helps you really internalize multiplication.
-
To make the game more exciting, you can also add new movements. For example: • Clap for the 3s. • Spin around once for the 5s. • For 'difficult' numbers, do a squat. Have fun hopping and learning!
