Have you ever wondered what the Olympic Games are and why they are so special? The Olympic Games began a long time ago in a country called Greece. The first games took place in the city of Olympia, which is why they are called the "Olympic Games". Today, the Olympic Games are a huge celebration where athletes from all over the world compete in many different disciplines. Have you ever seen the five colorful rings? They are the symbol of the Olympic Games. The rings represent our continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and America. The rings show that the games bring the whole world together. Today, you can host your own Olympic Games.

How it works

  1. Sprint race: Mark a track. At the starting signal, sprint to the finish line. The fastest runner wins!

  2. Long jump: Mark a take-off line. Jump as far as you can from a standstill. The longest jump wins!

  3. Throwing: Throw soft balls or tennis balls as far as you can. Measure the distance of each throw. The longest throw wins!

  4. Relay race: Divide into teams. Each team member runs a distance and passes a baton. The team that finishes first wins!

  5. Volleyball: Form two teams of 3-6 players each. Stretch a rope as a net at waist height. Use a soft ball. Hit the ball over the net. It must not touch the ground. Each time it lands in the opponent's field, you score a point. Be the first to reach 20 points to win!

  6. Basketball: Form two teams of 3-5 players each. Use a basketball hoop or improvise with a bucket. The goal is to throw the ball into the hoop. Each basket counts as one point. The team with the most points after 10 minutes wins. Dribble, pass, and have fun!

  7. Have fun at your own Olympic Games! In which Olympic discipline would you like to compete? Who knows, maybe one day you'll stand on the winner's podium at the Olympic Games!
