Making Magic Slime
Do you want to create magic slime that is as mysterious and fascinating as a real magic trick? Then follow these simple steps, and you'll have your own magic slime!
What you'll need
- 2 cups of cornstarch
- food coloring (if desired)
- a bowl
- a spoon
- 1 cup of water
How it works
-
Get everything ready so you can work like a real magician.
-
Pour the cornstarch into the bowl and slowly add the water. Stir with the spoon or your hands until everything is well mixed.
-
If you want, you can now add a few drops of food coloring to make your slime shine in a magical color.
-
Once the mixture is well combined, you can reach in with your hands. You'll notice that the slime gets hard when you apply pressure and becomes liquid again when you release the pressure. That's the special part! That's the magic!
-
When you move the slime quickly and apply pressure, it becomes hard because the particles stick together. If you let go or move it slowly, it will become liquid again as the particles slide apart. That's the special thing about this non-Newtonian fluid!
-
Play with your magic slime! You can knead it, stretch it, and even try to shape it into a ball.
-
And voilà! You've made your own magic slime! You can try different colors or invite friends to create magic together. Have fun experimenting!
