What you'll need

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Yellow acrylic paint
  • Brush
  • Painting surface
  • Yellow yarn
  • Wiggly eyes
  • Yellow feathers
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Orange paper

How it works

  1. Take your empty toilet paper roll and paint the entire roll bright yellow. This way, your chick egg holder will be nice and yellow everywhere, even if the yarn shifts a bit. Let the paint dry well before moving on to the next step.

  2. Start wrapping the yellow yarn around the toilet paper roll. Tie the end of the yarn securely to the roll and then wrap it tightly and evenly around until the whole roll is covered. At the end, tie the other end of the yarn securely as well.

  3. For the beak, fold a piece of orange paper in half and then cut it into a triangle shape to create a small 3D beak. Glue the eyes and the beak onto the yarn-wrapped toilet paper roll.

  4. Now, if you want, you can cut out small feet from orange paper and glue them to the bottom of the roll. Yellow feathers will also make the chick fluffier. And your chick egg holder is ready!
