Hedgehog Made of Pear and Grapes
Today, we're making a little hedgehog out of a pear! You don't need any cooking skills, just a good idea and a bit of dexterity. The pear will get a face and lots of little spikes made from grapes. While skewering, you can work carefully and train your hands and fingers. Think for yourself: How many spikes can fit on your hedgehog? Which grapes do you want to use? Maybe your hedgehog will even have a pattern of light and dark grapes. This idea is especially fun to do together. Divide the tasks: One person washes the fruit, another skewers the grapes, and one designs the face. This way, you can practice communicating and considering other ideas. In the end, the little hedgehog can simply be eaten up.
What you'll need
- 1 pear
- grapes
- toothpicks
- knife and cutting board
- 2 cloves for eyes
- peeler
How it works
-
Wash the pear and grapes thoroughly. Dry everything off. Lay the pear on its side and take a look at it: The narrow end will later be the snout of your hedgehog.
-
Ask an adult to cut or peel a bit of skin off the narrow part of the pear. This will create the face. Insert two cloves as eyes. The pear's stem will stay, giving your hedgehog a long nose.
-
Skewer one grape onto each toothpick. Carefully poke the toothpicks into the back, unpeeled part of the pear. Be careful of the sharp ends.
-
Look at your hedgehog from all sides. Are the eyes in the right place? Are there enough spikes? Change something if you want. Then your pear hedgehog is ready to be enjoyed on the fruit plate!
