Halloween Pumpkin with Cookie Cutters
Transform your pumpkin into a glowing autumn lantern! All you need are your favorite cookie cutters and a small hammer. Whether stars, hearts, or cats – you decide which shapes to create in the pumpkin. Gently tap the cutters into the pumpkin skin, place a light inside, and watch your pumpkin glow in the dark. This way, you create a special autumn light that you've made yourself – beautiful, unique, and full of autumn magic!
What you'll need
- Pumpkins
- Cookie cutters
- Hammer
- LED tealight
- Carving knife
- Waste container
- Spoon or carving spoon
How it works
-
Grab a knife (an adult can help you with this) and cut off the top. Exciting to see what's inside a pumpkin, right?
-
Now it's time to scoop out the insides with a spoon. It's a bit slippery and really fun! You can collect the seeds; maybe you'll plant them in spring and have your own pumpkins next year.
-
Let's start with the pattern! Place a cookie cutter on the pumpkin and gently tap with the hammer until the cutter is well seated. Now take the hammer handle and carefully knock out the shape. The first pattern is done!
-
If the cutter gets stuck, don't worry! Just gently tap the handle of the hammer against the cutter until it loosens. This way, your pumpkin stays intact, and you can keep working on your pattern.
-
Choose more cutters and make as many shapes as you like. A star here, a heart there. Your pumpkin will carry your own unique design and become more special with each pattern!
-
When it gets dark outside, place an LED light inside and turn it on. Now your pumpkin glows and brings autumn magic to the night. A little artwork made just by you!
