Experiment - Magical Water Bag

What you'll need

• A ziplock freezer bag
• Water
• Wooden skewers (like kebab skewers)
• A bowl that can get wet
• A bit of courage and a lot of fun!

How it works

   Fill the freezer bag with water. Make sure not to overfill it so you can easily seal it. Carefully close the ziplock to prevent any water from leaking out.

   Hold the bag carefully over your bowl. Now it gets exciting! Take a wooden skewer and have it ready. Be careful not to hurt yourself. Gently poke the skewer through one side of the bag. Go for it, you can do this!

   The skewer should come out on the other side. And? The water stays inside, right? Fascinating!

   You can poke even more skewers through the bag. Always be careful so nothing breaks. What do you see? The water is still inside. It's like magic, isn't it?

   The secret lies in the molecules! Water is made up of tiny particles, the molecules, that hold together tightly. When you poke the skewer through, the wood seals the holes, preventing the water molecules from escaping. The water stays in the bag because the molecules stick together.

   Now comes the most exciting part: pull the skewers out one by one. What happens? Exactly, the water spills out! This is because the wood is no longer in the holes and the water finds its way out.
