Create a Halloween Candle
Do you want to make some spooky Halloween decorations? Then try this awesome idea! A candle with a cool dripping effect made from crayons! It's super easy and looks like the candle is bleeding or wax is dripping in cool colors. Caution!!! Since you are working with fire and the wax gets hot, you should only do this with an adult.
What you'll need
- A white candle (preferably thick)
- Crayons (especially in red)
- Lighter or matches
How it works
-
Ask an adult to help you light the candle. Make sure the candle is standing safely so nothing tips over.
-
Now it's time for your crayon. Take the red crayon (or another color) and carefully hold it to the flame of the burning candle. The crayon will start to melt! Now comes the goosebumps moment! Hold the melting crayon to the edge of the candle.
-
The red wax drips down the side. Pretty spooky, right? If you like to be especially creative, you can let different colors drip. Try black and orange for the classic Halloween look. Or use purple and green for a magical effect.
-
Keep going until you are satisfied with the result. Once you're done, blow out the candle and wait for the wax to cool down. Then you can admire your masterpiece!
-
Now you have a really cool decoration. Your Halloween candle looks like it came straight from a haunted house! Just wait until your friends see it. Goosebumps guaranteed!
