Craft a Cinnamon Stick Reindeer
Hello, craft fans! Have you ever made a reindeer from cinnamon sticks? With just a few materials, you can create your own reindeer that not only looks great but also smells like Christmas. You'll learn how to turn simple items into big ideas. Let's get started!
What you'll need
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- Pompom for the nose
- Two googly eyes
- Glue (craft glue or hot glue)
- String for hanging
- Scissors
- One brown pipe cleaner
How it works
-
Place two cinnamon sticks so they form a 'V'. Glue the ends of the cinnamon sticks together at the bottom. Make sure the glue holds well so the 'V' stays stable. Tip: If the glue isn't dry yet, hold the cinnamon sticks together for a moment.
-
Take the third cinnamon stick. Place it on top of the tip of the V and glue it down. Make sure the cinnamon stick is slightly offset downwards. This creates the typical reindeer shape.
-
Now it gets exciting. Your reindeer is getting a nose! Take the pompom (red like Rudolph, brown like a real reindeer, or your favorite color) and glue it to the tip of your triangle. Press the pompom down firmly so it stays, and let it dry for a moment.
-
Glue the googly eyes onto the cinnamon sticks above the nose. Press the eyes down briefly to ensure they stick well. Now your reindeer is looking right at you!
-
Now your reindeer gets its antlers! Take a pipe cleaner and cut it in half. Wrap each half around the top of the cinnamon stick. Shape an antler on each side.
-
Cut a piece of string or ribbon and tie it securely. This way, you can easily hang your reindeer on the Christmas tree or use it as a fragrant gift tag. Your reindeer is now finished!
