Collecting Colors

Today, you will embark on an exciting adventure where you collect colors in nature. This is not only a great way to be outside, but it also helps you observe nature more closely and learn how colorful our world is.

What you'll need

Old cardboard for your color collection board
Crayons
Transparent tape or book cover
Scissors

How it works

Take an old piece of cardboard and cut off a large section. It should be easy to carry since you will take it with you on your adventure.
Color the cardboard with the crayons. Draw large areas with different colors – red, blue, green, yellow, and so on. You can also draw patterns or simple shapes that highlight the colors.
Cover the colored areas with transparent tape or book cover. Make sure the sticky side is facing up. Cut the cover to size and carefully stick it on so it covers the entire color area.
Take your color collection board and go outside. Look for small natural items that match the colors on your board. These can be leaves, flowers, stones, or small twigs.
When you find an item that matches one of the colors on your board, stick it onto the corresponding sticky area. Watch as your board becomes more colorful and interesting with each discovery!
When you're done, bring your color collection board home and show it to your family and friends. You can talk about what you found and what you particularly liked about the items. Have fun on your color adventure!
