Imagine your clown sitting quietly. He looks at you. Just normal. But suddenly – pop! – he gets a huge nose. And just like that, it’s gone again. That’s what makes this clown so funny. You can surprise others. At first, nothing happens. Then you press, and everyone is amazed. Maybe someone laughs out loud. Maybe everyone wants to try it themselves. Your clown becomes a little star of the show. Meanwhile, you notice that air can be powerful too. You can’t see it, but it moves things. You play, experiment, and find out how to make the nose especially big. It’s crafting with fun. And your clown keeps bringing a new “pop!”

What you'll need

2 white paper cups
black felt pen
scissors
1 balloon
crayons

How it works

Draw a clown face on one cup. The nose goes in the middle.
Cut a round hole at the nose spot. It should be a bit bigger than a marble.
Put the balloon into the cup. Carefully inflate the balloon. Hold the end tightly and tie the balloon securely. The balloon now fills the cup.
Press the second cup from below against the balloon. Watch closely: the nose pops out big from the hole. Let go, and it disappears again.
Press harder or softer. What changes? Show your clown to someone and explain the trick. You didn’t just craft; you explored.
