Water Sponge Relay
Get your sports shoes ready because today is going to be splashy! We're playing sponge relay, a super fun game that not only cools you off but also shows how great you can work as a team. Imagine you are part of a speedy team trying to fill a bucket with water as quickly as possible, using just a big, thirsty sponge!
What you'll need
- 4 buckets
- 2 sponges
- water
How it works
-
Split into groups. Each team gets a huge, absorbent sponge and two buckets. One bucket is filled with water and is at the start. The other, your target bucket, waits for you at the end of the course.
-
Mark the start and finish. Your racecourse can go across a field or around a playground. Just make sure there is enough space and it's safe for everyone.
-
Each player dips the sponge into the water at the start, runs to the target bucket, and wrings it out there. Then you run back with the sponge, pass it to the next player, and it starts all over again.
-
A starting signal sounds and the first team member takes off. You need to be quick but also smart to transport as much water as possible.
-
The game ends when one team fills their target bucket first or when time runs out. A referee can also measure which team collected the most water.
-
High-five each other and clean up the equipment together. This is part of it too and shows your team spirit. With this great idea, you not only learn to work as a team but also have a lot of fun outdoors. So, throw the sponges in the water and let's go!
