Tying Shoelaces - A New Method
Tying shoelaces is more than just a daily task. It trains your dexterity, concentration, and perseverance. Once you can do it, you'll feel proud and independent. It's a small problem you can solve all by yourself, and that's what makes you smart! Maybe you've tried to tie a bow before, but it just doesn't seem to work? Or it keeps coming undone? No worries. Today, you'll try a new method. It's quick, easy to remember, and holds tight. Are you ready to give it a go? Grab your shoes and let's get started!
What you'll need
- Shoes with laces
How it works
-
Lay the two laces over each other in a cross and make a simple knot. Pull it tight. This knot forms the basis for everything that follows.
-
Now it gets exciting. Insert the ends of the laces into the top holes of the shoes, right into the holes that are closest. It might look a bit unusual now, but trust the plan.
-
Take the two 'double' laces coming out of the holes and make another simple knot. Pull it tight.
-
Pull the ends out of the holes. Now you just need to give both 'ears' a good tug to make sure the knot is really secure. That's it!
-
Now it's your turn! Give it a try and check if your shoes fit well. And if you've got it down, show your parents or friends. They might think this method is just as brilliant as you do!
What kids learn from this
