The Easter Bunny and the Stamping Party

Imagine you're in a meadow. Colorful flowers are blooming everywhere. And in the middle of the meadow sits a bunny. So white that it almost glows. All around it is full of color. Dots, splashes, stamps. Almost like confetti in an egg. That's the picture you can create yourself. All you need is a printed bunny, some paint, and a desire to stamp. Not with brushes. But with things you know: a pompom, a clothespin, or an old wine cork. You decide which colors go on the paper. Whether it will be bright and colorful or pastel. Whether you stamp slowly or wildly.

What you'll need

Printed bunny template
A white sheet of paper or cardstock
Acrylic paint or finger paint
Pompoms or wine corks
Clothespin (for the pompom)
Pompom as bunny tail
Scissors
Art smock or old clothes

How it works

Print out the Easter bunny template (available for download here). Cut the bunny out neatly. This is now your 'stencil'. Place it in the center of a new sheet of paper. Caution: Don't glue it down, just press it lightly with one hand so it doesn't slip.
Choose two to five favorite colors. Acrylic or finger paint works best. You can mix everything together in a colorful mess or focus on spring colors like yellow, pink, turquoise, and green.
If you want to work with a pompom, clip it into a clothespin. This way, you can hold it easily without getting colorful fingers. Alternatively, use a wine cork. Both work great.
Dip your stamp into the paint and dab around the bunny template. Sometimes close, sometimes further away. You can layer colors on top of each other or place them side by side. Just as you like. Important: The area around the bunny should be really colorful!
Sometimes a stamp goes awry. That's okay. The picture belongs to you, with all its spots, splashes, and little mistakes. That's what makes it special. And next time it will be different again. Just like every real idea. It grows with you.
Now comes the magic moment: Slowly lift the bunny template off the paper. And ta-da, you have a white Easter bunny in the middle of a colorful spring meadow! It looks really great.
Finally, glue a small pompom onto the bunny as a fluffy tail. Now your artwork is finished. Just let it dry, and then you can hang it on the wall or give it away.
