What you'll need

  • A flashlight
  • Empty wall space
  • Darkness
  • Halloween items

How it works

  1. Turn off all the lights in the room. The darker it is, the better the shadows will be visible.

  2. One player (the 'shadow caster') takes one of the Halloween items and holds it between the flashlight and the wall to create a shadow. They should be careful not to show the object directly.

  3. The other players must guess as quickly as possible which object is casting the shadow. Whoever guesses correctly first gets to be the next shadow caster.

  4. Play as many rounds as you like. The more different objects you have, the more varied the game will be.

  5. Tip: You can make the game more challenging by having the shadow caster hold the object further away or closer to the flashlight. This changes the size and shape of the shadow. Have fun guessing shadows and getting spooked!
