Rain? Best Day for Forest Faces!

Rain? Best Day for Forest Faces!

🎂 5 + years ⏱️ 45 min 📍 Forest & Meadow ⭐ easy

It's raining softly. No storm, no thunder, just rain. You look out the window. Maybe you're feeling bored. Perhaps the mood is a bit gray. But that's exactly when it's a good moment. A moment when you can go outside. With your rain jacket, rubber boots, and an adventure backpack. On your walk, you search for tree stumps. And for little treasures: acorns, leaves, moss, pine cones. Things that are just lying around. Things you can make something out of. Because today, you're creating faces in the forest. A face with eyes made of stones. A mouth from a twig. Maybe even wild hair made of grass. You create with what nature gives you. Maybe tomorrow a child will walk by. And stop. Smile. And wonder who placed this forest face.

How it works

  1. Look out the window: No thunder, no storm? Then you can go outside with your loved ones. Put on your rain jacket, sturdy shoes, or rubber boots. You might need a hat.

  2. Look closely: What’s on the forest floor? Leaves, acorns, bark, moss, pine cones? Pick up what makes you smile. You don’t need to pick anything; nature has already laid out enough.

  3. Keep an eye out for a tree stump that smiles at you. One that calls: 'Create me!' Here, your little artwork will come to life. Use your finds to make a face.

  4. Stones for eyes, smaller stones for a mouth, flowers for hair, or leaves for ears? Anything goes, nothing is mandatory. Experiment, adjust until your forest face smiles back at you.

  5. Once your face is finished, take a look at it. Then keep walking. You leave a small gift behind for the next passerby. For a smile in the rain. For a moment that lasts.

  6. Do you feel like creating a second or third face? Then get started right away! And if you like, take a photo of your favorite face and send it to us for the Grubenfuchs Creative Wall!
