Make Your Own Night Light
Have you ever been in bed at night and everything feels so dark? A little night light can be really nice! With a night light, you often feel safer and cozier. It helps you fall asleep more easily and makes your room feel warmer. You only need a few things: an LED tealight, a ping pong ball, and some wax crayons. This craft idea is perfect for autumn, St. Martin's Day, or as a little highlight for the next festival of lights. You can paint your night light however you like, like a planet, a moon, or stars! Be creative together and make your own night light that protects you. Doesn't that sound great? So, let's get started!
What you'll need
- LED tealights
- Plain ping pong balls
- Wax crayons
- Sharp scissors
How it works
-
Take a ping pong ball and carefully cut a small hole in it. The hole should be big enough for the LED tealight to fit in well. This step is tricky! So, feel free to ask an adult for help.
-
Now it’s time to get colorful! Take your wax crayons and color your ball. Let your imagination run wild! Maybe you even want to try out patterns and shapes. Or you can design it like a planet. The more colors, the prettier your night light will shine later.
-
Now insert the LED tealight into the hole of the ping pong ball. If it doesn't fit right away, you can slightly enlarge the slit. Turn it on and see how your night light shines. Cool, right? Your handmade night light now shines just the way you imagined it.
-
Maybe you know someone who could also use a night light. It’s great when you craft something together and be creative. Crafting connects and is even more fun together! Enjoy your handmade night light and sweet dreams!
