Floating Ghost Fun
Ready for another magical experiment? This time, you'll create your own floating ghost. Without touching it! With some tissue paper or a napkin, a balloon, and a bit of 'ghost magic', your ghost will float on its own. Sounds exciting? Let's get started!
What you'll need
- white tissue paper or napkin
- A black permanent marker
- A black permanent marker
- A balloon
- Your hair or a wool sweater
How it works
-
Grab the tissue paper or napkin. Cut out a small, spooky ghost from it. Then, use the black marker to draw a face on the ghost. Two eyes, a round mouth. Your ghost should look a bit spooky!
-
Now it's time for the balloon. Inflate it and tie it off. This will be your 'magic wand' to make your ghost float. Keep it ready because it's about to get magical!
-
To make the ghost float, you need a bit of 'ghost energy'. Rub the inflated balloon vigorously on your hair or a wool sweater. Rub for about 10-20 seconds to charge the balloon well.
-
Now it gets exciting. Slowly hold the charged balloon above your paper ghost, but don't touch it! Watch closely! Your ghost will be drawn to the balloon as if by magic and start to float.
-
Due to the static electricity created by rubbing, the balloon attracts the tissue paper. It looks like your ghost is dancing in the air!
-
Try to make the ghost float without touching it. Can you make it dance up and down by bringing the balloon closer or moving it away? With a little practice, you can give your ghost the perfect spooky performance!
-
Feel free to show your ghost to your friends. They'll be amazed!
