What you'll need

  • Colorful yarn
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard

How it works

  1. Draw a circle on the cardboard and cut it out. Make eight notches around the edge and a small hole in the center.

  2. Choose seven cool colors and cut the threads as long as your arm. Tie a knot at the end of the threads. Pull the threads through the hole in the center of the disk. Each thread gets its own notch. One remains empty.

  3. Now you are ready to braid. Hold the disk so that the empty notch is facing you. Count three threads to the right and take the third thread. Place it in the empty notch.

  4. Turn the disk clockwise so that the new empty notch is facing you. Count three threads to the right and take the third thread. Place it in the empty notch.

  5. And now you are on your way to braiding your own friendship bracelet! Keep going until your bracelet is long enough. You will see how the colorful threads create a great pattern. Have fun braiding!
